Kheth’Impilo was successful in securing funding as a principal recipient (PR) to manage the Global Fund grant for the implementation of programs addressing the HIV/AIDS and TB epidemic in Ethekwini (Umlazi, Umbumbulu and Umkhomazi) districts of South Africa for the period 1 November 2016 to 31 March 2019.

Kheth’Impilo now invites registered organisations, located in the relevant target districts and working in the HIV & AIDS adherence programme area, to submit a detailed response to the request for proposal. The complete RFP document may be found at and provides additional details on key activities expected to be undertaken. In order to achieve the prescribed scope of work, organisations applying must ensure that all of the requested requirements relevant to organizational capability and capacity are met.

The deadline for this submission is 12h00 on 18th of November 2016.

Adherence Programme Objective:
To support the National Department of Health integrated HIV and chronic disease adherence model and assist patients in adopting treatment adherence behaviour, enhancing patient’s abilities in managing and maintaining the treatment maximally and durably suppress plasma HIV RNA.
Main Elements:

  • To provide enhanced adherence counselling and support on patients initiated on HAART
  • To set up adherence clubs for patients that are 12months on treatment for chronic diseases and being virologically suppressed, and support treatment adherence
